What’s on our Stan watchlist for November.

Godfather of Harlem (2019)

TV Series – Crime, Drama

There’s been quite a bit of buzz around the release of Godfather of Harlem – and for good reason. We’ve just finished the pilot episode and can confirm: we’re interested! The show is loosely based on the true story of infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson, played by Forest Whitaker. Bumpy is newly released from prison into what seems like a changed world – and now he’s out to reclaim Harlem from the Italian mob. With a fresh approach to the well-trodden themes of drugs, racism and gangster crime, plenty of drama, and some seriously good acting performances, we’re already looking forward to what’s in store for Bumpy and his crew. Episodes are dropping weekly, each Tuesday, straight to your Stan-doorstep!

The Matrix Trilogy (1999 – 2021?)

Movies – Sci-Fi, Action

If you haven’t already heard – we are about the re-enter the Matrix. This is not a drill! Our inner Sci-Fi nerds have been rejoicing since the announcement dropped that ‘The Matrix 4’ is underway. With original cast members Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss reprising their roles as the iconic Neo and Trinity, we predict it’s going to be big! And to celebrate, this November we will be going back to where it all began by re-watching The Matrix Trilogy. If you didn’t catch them the first time around, the Matrix movies are packed full of gravity-defying action sequences, plot themes to make you question your own reality, and clones. So many clones. All 3 of the original ‘Matrix’ movies are available to stream now on Stan.

Hart of Dixie (2011 – 2013)

TV Series – Romance, Nostalgia

Taking it back again, just a few years now – Hart of Dixie first hit the small screen in 2011. Starring the likeable Rachel Bilson (you may know her as “Summer” from The O.C.) this show centers around a career-driven, aspiring surgeon from New York, who suddenly finds herself working as a GP in country Alabama. With a surprisingly favourable 81% backing from Rotten Tomatoes, Hart of Dixie delivers the perfect amount of drama, romance and heart-warming cheese to secure a spot on our list. With 76 episodes to feast on in total, Heart of Dixie has got us covered for some easy watching in November.
